Sani Liman Kila, retired intelligence officer, astute administrator, and philanthropist was born on 23rd June 1968 in Kila, Jigawa State. He had his early education at the Kila Kudu Central Primary School from 1974 to 1980 and Government Secondary School, Dawakin Tofa where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate in 1985.
He proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a Bachelor of Education in English in 1998. His quest for knowledge and honing of his skills took him to the Open University of Nigeria where he obtained a Master of Science degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution in 2009.
The highly experienced retired intelligence officer and astute administrator started his working career in the Nigerian Immigration Service in 1989. He held many important positions. He was Senior Intelligence Officer, Nigeria Immigration Service – 2017, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration (Intelligence) – 2020, and Special Assistant to the Comptroller General of Immigration (Investigations) – 2020 – 2021. He served as Passport Control Officer, Amana City, Kano from March 2021 to August 2022. In 2021, he was the Chairman, Investigative Committee on the Fire Incident at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Abuja.
In recognition of Sani Liman Kila’s outstanding performance in service, he was appointed the Comptroller of Immigration Service, Kaduna State Command where he served from August, 2022 to February, 2023. He was later deployed to Kano as the Comptroller of Immigration before his recent voluntary retirement from service.
In his unrelenting pursuit of professional excellence, he attended courses in Intelligence, Corporate Leadership and People Management at the DSS Training School, Lagos, and Immigration Command and Staff College, Sokoto. He also attended courses at the Immigration Training School, Kano (1991), Immigration Training School, Orlu, Imo State, 2000 (Machine Readable Passport Training). In 2018, he participated in a Passport Officers Workshop organized by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Abuja.
Sani Liman Kila was in Decembet 2022 awarded the Fellowship of the Institute of Industrialists and Corporate Administrators (FIICA) in recognition of his proficiency in Corporate Administration. In July 2022 he was honoured with an Award of Excellence by BIZI Mobile Cashless Consultant Limited for his selfless service to humanity and contributions towards the Nation. In the same year, Al-Muamulat (a Hausa Weekly Newspaper) recognized him for promoting Islamic Affairs, Humanitarian Services, Health, Education, Youth and Women Empowerment.
On 30th May 2023, Sani Liman Kila was appointed the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kaduna State.
He has deployed his strategic planning, policy and programme management, and human management skills to effectively drive the vision and governance agenda of the Governor Uba Sani Administration. A resulted oriented administrator and strategist, he served as Chairman, Kaduna State Committee on Palliatives Distribution, Chairman, Kaduna State Committee on Flood Disaster, and Member, Kaduna State Committee on Implementation and Monitoring Mechanism for Tudun Biri Projects
In June 2023, he was conferred with the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) by the President and Commander -in- Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In May 2024, during the celebration of World Press Freedom Day, the Correspondents Chapel of the Kaduna State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) announced the appointment of Sani Liman Kila as its Grand Patron.
