MANDATE
- Promote, supervise, regulate, and coordinate the 23 Local Government Councils’ activities in the state and related agencies for LG Administration.
- Administer and regulate all matters relating to traditional institutions in the state.
- Advise and supervise Emirate/Traditional Councils in carrying out their duties, including vital registration, local level intelligence, etc.
- Propose policies to enhance the maintenance of Law and Order and the well-being of various communities.
- Ensure the Provision, Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Rural Infrastructure including but not limited to roads, culverts, electricity, bridges.
