Need for Power
(N-Power)

The N-power programme is designed to address youth unemployment of Nigerians between the ages of 18 to 35 to acquire and develop life-long skills through job placement and skills training. It has categories for unemployed graduates (N-Teach, N-Health, N-Agro) and non-graduates (N-Build, N-Creative, N-Tech, N-Skills). A monthly stipend of N30,000 is paid to graduates and N10,000 for non-graduates. Beneficiaries are trained to becoming change makers in their communities and players in the domestic and global markets.

Beneficiaries of N-Power scheme in Kaduna State:

Batches A & B – (2017 – 2020): 18,163 (Graduates) and 1,413 (non-Graduate).

Batch C, Stream 1 (2021 to 2022)

                15,347 (Graduates) and 1,829 (Non-Graduate) Volunteers

Batch C, Stream 2 (2022 to Date)

                7,977 (Graduates) and 1,113 (Non-Graduate) Volunteers

 

Since inception, N-Power has graduated over 45,000 volunteers across the different components.

 

Skills Training:

  • Training of 1,200 volunteers (in 2022) belonging to N-Creative and N-Tech respectively (N-Knowledge trainees). The skills are Scripting (N-Creative), Animation (N-Creative), Software (N-Tech), Hardware (N-Tech).
  • NExit: About 2,705 volunteers (batches A and B) were equipped in the NeXit training programme, which was designed around entrepreneurship, geared towards upskilling young people with a view to accessing loans thereafter.
  • Jobberman Soft Skill Training for N-Power Graduate Volunteers: Jobberman Nigeria is dedicated to creating institutional and democratized opportunities for young people across Nigeria. The Jobberman Youth Engagement Programme, sponsored by Mastercard, is dedicated to training/upskilling 5million youths in 5years across Kaduna, Kano, and Lagos, with up to 70% in Kaduna and Kano.

The Jobberman programme enrolled 6,345 volunteers in 2 batches (A&B), from the 23 LGAs of the state for the employability and soft skills training with a focus on;

  1. Business Etiquette etc.
